This summer, Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma chapters across the country answered the call to support our partnership with NMDP by bringing its lifesaving mission directly to their college and university bands. The results are already making an incredible impact.

From August 1 through September 23, 25 participating bands helped inspire 1,304 people to join the NMDP Registry — an average of 52 new registry members per participating band.

Each new registry member represents another opportunity to provide a potentially lifesaving blood stem cell or marrow transplant to a patient in need. We are grateful to the Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma chapters, band programs, students, and NMDP representatives who helped make these events possible.

The impact has reached bands across the country. The University of Oregon Marching Band led the way with 145 new registry members, followed by the UCLA Bruin Marching Band with 126, Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band with 117, Iowa State University Cyclone Marching Band with 102, and The University of Texas at El Paso Miners Marching Band with 100.

And this is only the beginning. We look forward to continuing to build on the momentum of this partnership and seeing the difference our chapters and band communities can make together.

Please join us in welcoming Amber J. Breckenridge as our new Business Operations Coordinator for Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma! 💙🎶

Amber brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience and a passion for service, leadership, and music. She earned her Associate of Occupational Science in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Atlanta and her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Virginia State University, where she performed as a trumpet player in the Marching “Trojan Explosion” Band, Pep Band, and Concert Band.

Amber is an active member of numerous organizations, including the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), Tuba Phi Tuba Brass Fellowship, Incorporated, Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated.

We are excited to have Amber join the National Headquarters team and look forward to the knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication she will bring in serving our members and chapters. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome! 🎺✨

It’s easy, engaging, and makes a real impact. Your chapter simply selects a date and time, and NMDP will help coordinate the rest. During the presentation, your band will learn more about NMDP’s lifesaving mission, and attendees will have the opportunity to join the NMDP Registry.

The National Headquarters of Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma are excited to announce our new Membership & Expansion Coordinator, Mason Thomas. Mason, currently serving as one of our National Chapter Field Representatives for Kappa Kappa Psi, will start in the Membership & Expansion Coordinator job on December 1st.

Mason Thomas is a 2022 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, where he graduated with a B.M. in Music Education. While attending college, he was a member of the Razorback Marching Band, Hogwild Band, and UA Concert Bands. A Life Member from the Lambda Chapter, Mason was initiated in the Spring of 2019, and has since been initiated as an honorary member into the North Central District of Kappa Kappa Psi, and the National Chapters of both Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma.

During his time as an active member, Mason served in several roles at the chapter, district, and national level, including Chapter President, SWD Secretary/Treasurer, and as a member of the National Ritual Performance and Education Committee, a committee on which he currently continues to serve. Professionally, Mason has taught as an adjunct and substitute teacher in the public schools in Arkansas, and most recently, proudly served as Kappa Kappa Psi’s 24th Chapter Field Representative. In his free time, Mason enjoys playing video games, watching professional basketball, and spending time with family/friends, and he has a particular love for musicals such as Hadestown and Waitress.

We are pleased to announce that Dollie McDonald O’Neill has officially been appointed as the Interim Executive Director for Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma National Headquarters, effective today (Tuesday, April 1, 2025).

Dollie is a long-standing champion of our organizations and a proven leader in both volunteer and professional spheres. As a Life Member of the Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma and an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Dollie has served in nearly every national role, including National President and Chair of the Board of Trustees. Her tenure is marked by a legacy of collaborative projects, innovative fundraising efforts, and a deep commitment to uplifting our respective missions.

Her career extends beyond our organizations, with more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and strategic engagement. Most recently, Dollie served as Executive Director of the Philmont Staff Association, where she led successful large-scale campaigns, built sustainable donor relationships, and approached her work with both purpose and heart.

We are thrilled to welcome a leader who not only understands the heartbeat of our organizations but also brings the professional expertise to guide us into our next chapter. Dollie’s unique blend of institutional knowledge, relationship-building, and mission-driven strategy will be a valuable asset to both National Leadership Teams and beyond.

Dollie’s Full Bio

No stranger to the organizations, Dollie McDonald O’Neill is a proud Life member of Tau Beta Sigma Sorority and an Honorary Member of Kappa Kappa Psi. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas where she was initiated into the Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. While at the U of A, Dollie was member of the Razorback Marching Band and Color Guard, Concert Band, Basketball Pep Band and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication/Public Relations. After graduating, Dollie served the sorority on the national level as National Chapter Field Representative from 2000-2002 and in all 4 elected National Council Offices from 2003-2011. She was then Elected to the Board of Trustees, serving as Capital Development Co-Chair, Vice-Chair and Chair of the Board of Trustees from 2011-2017. Dollie collaborated on several projects during her National Council service, including initiatives focused on growth, strategic planning, marketing, finances, communication, and improving joint relations. One of her favorite and proudest projects to date was Co-Chairing and planning all the Fundraising efforts for the Wava Memorial Gardens and launching the 13 Days of Wava!

Out in the field, Dollie’s career experiences span over 20 years in fundraising, management, recruiting, hiring and project development in non-profit organizations and corporate companies. Career Highlights include Traveling to 135 Chapters while serving as the Sorority’s 4th National Chapter Field Representative, Retail Management for Victoria Secret Stores, Recruiter for City Government, Recruiter for Department of Energy, Executive Director for the Non-Profit Philmont Staff Association and working 10 summers while living at Philmont Scout Ranch. The most important job of all is being a mom to two teenagers and being involved within her community. Other notable volunteer roles have been serving as Chair to local Head Start Policy Council and being elected to the School Board when residing in Cimarron, New Mexico. Most recently, Dollie is a new member of the Board of Directors for KCM Cares, a non-profit in Maryland dedicated to the delivery of equitable, compassionate healthcare in the community including care for vulnerable populations.

Dollie’s career passions are fundraising and growth strategies to achieve goals for a greater impact of the organization’s mission and vision. Dollie’s Sorority fundraising highlights have been raising money for the Wava Memorial Gardens, Stanley G. Finck NIB Fund, and Tau Beta Sigma Giving Tuesday. Dollie’s Executive Director fundraising highlights include raising over $400K for the Philmont Wildfire Conservation fund, Philmont Staff Association Giving Tuesday and reaching the $1.5 million goal for the Building HOmE Capital Campaign for the Philmont Staff Association.

Dollie is a Life Member of the Psi Chapter, a charter member of the TBSAA and has numerous Honorary memberships in both Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi, including her Brother chapter, Lambda. Dollie now resides in Minnesota with her family and in her free time you can find her swimming or canoeing in a lake, volunteering for her kid’s sports concessions and cheering them on. Dollie also loves to travel with her family, and blog about her travel experiences.

We are excited to announce the newest addition to our National Headquarters (NHQ) staff—please join us in welcoming Jami Hudson as our new National Membership & Expansion Coordinator! Jami officially began her role on Thursday, January 23, 2025, and we are thrilled to have her on board.

A Stillwater native, Jami has a strong background in administration. She has worked in accounting offices and public-school systems, most recently as the House Director of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Oklahoma State University. Her dedication to supporting college-aged students aligns perfectly with our organizations’ missions, and she is eager to find meaningful work and opportunities with us.
