Located in historic Stillwater Station, National Headquarters provides members and guests with a unique opportunity to connect with the people, places, artifacts, and stories that have shaped both organizations.

Your Headquarters. Your History.

Stillwater Station has its own story stretching back more than a century. Plans for the brick station were drawn in 1911, construction was completed in 1917, and the Oklahoma A&M College Band performed during the building’s 1918 dedication.

After serving generations of railroad passengers and later operating as the Stillwater Station Restaurant, the historic building became the National Headquarters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma in 1991.

Today, the Station is home to organizational artifacts, historic displays, gathering spaces, and reminders of generations of members who have contributed to the work of the Fraternity and Sorority.

Your visit is a chance to become part of that continuing story.

Chapter Pilgrimage to National Headquarters

Bring your chapter to Stillwater for a National Headquarters experience designed to connect today’s members with the history and traditions of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma.

A typical Chapter Pilgrimage lasts approximately two hours and includes a guided tour led by a member of the National Headquarters staff.

Depending on current facility access and conditions, your visit may include:

  • The history and architecture of Stillwater Station;
  • Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma history;
  • Organizational artifacts and memorabilia;
  • Historic awards and recognition displays;
  • Selected archival materials;
  • The Wava Memorial Garden;
  • The Kappa Kappa Psi Caboose;
  • National Headquarters operations; and
  • Plenty of opportunities for chapter photos.

Historic Headquarters materials document the Station’s railroad history, organizational exhibits, archives, and the preservation of the property by generations of members.

Suggested Visit Length: Approximately 2 hours

Chapter Volunteer Work Day

Leave Your Mark on National Headquarters

Looking for a chapter service project? Need volunteer hours for a class, internship, or service requirement? Bring your chapter to National Headquarters for a Volunteer Work Day.

Projects vary depending on current Headquarters needs and may include:

  • Landscaping and garden projects;
  • Cleaning and organizing Headquarters spaces;
  • Scanning or digitizing approved materials;
  • Preparing mailings;
  • Preparing materials for District or National Conventions;
  • Organizing supplies and materials; or
  • Other special Headquarters projects.

Volunteer work has long played a role in preserving Stillwater Station. Historic Headquarters materials describe members assisting with landscaping, building care, and preservation projects over the years.

National Headquarters can provide verification of completed volunteer hours when requested.

Suggested Visit Length: Approximately 5–6 hours during a business day

Bring Your Next Chapter Planning Day to Stillwater

Looking for a special setting for your chapter leadership retreat or planning day?

Chapters may request to use Stillwater Station for activities such as:

  • Officer retreats;
  • Academic-year planning;
  • Goal setting;
  • Strategic planning;
  • Leadership development;
  • Committee planning; and
  • Other chapter-development activities.

Holding your retreat at National Headquarters gives your chapter an opportunity to plan for its future while surrounded by the history and traditions of both organizations.

Because Chapter Retreats require additional facility and staffing coordination, requests must be submitted at least 21 days in advance.

Just Visiting Stillwater?

Members, alumni, organizational guests, and friends of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma are also welcome to request a general visit to National Headquarters.

A general visit may include a shortened tour of Stillwater Station depending on available time, staffing, and Headquarters operations.

Organizational Landmarks

Kappa Kappa Psi National Shrine

Located on the campus of Oklahoma State University, the Kappa Kappa Psi National Shrine was formally dedicated on March 26, 1960.

Fairlawn Cemetery

Fairlawn Cemetery is the resting place of several important individuals in Kappa Kappa Psi history, including:

  • Bohumil Makovsky;
  • William A. Scroggs;
  • A. Frank Martin; and
  • Clyde Haston.

National Headquarters Grounds

Be sure to leave time to explore features of the Headquarters grounds, including the Wava Memorial Garden, Kappa Kappa Psi Caboose, Walk of Fame, and other historical features.

The Caboose was installed at National Headquarters in 2006 as a space for preserving and sharing Kappa Kappa Psi history and artifacts.
