2. Installation of Mu Delta Chapter of KKPsi

Brothers,

On behalf of the National Council of Kappa Kappa Psi, it is my pleasure to announce the installation of the Mu Delta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, chapter #292, at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The installation took place Friday, February 29, 2008 on
the WMU campus.

Attending the installation were brothers from chapters in four of our districts including: Nu, Beta Rho, Gamma Nu, Delta Upsilon, Epsilon Pi, Zeta Epsilon, Theta Phi, Iota Lambda, Kappa Chi, and Lambda Tau. In addition, Dr. Malinda Matney, National President, and Chris Haughee, past Southeast District Governor and DSMM recipient were present.

Thanks to the Nu chapter at the University of Michigan for serving as the advising chapter. They performed their duties, including the initiation, admirably. Also, thank you to Chris Haughee for serving as the advising person for Mu Delta. These brothers were an excellent team to help guide this exciting addition to our brotherhood.

Mu Delta is the fourth chapter to be installed this biennium and the first chapter in our fraternity’s history to be installed on Leap Day. Not only can our brothers at Mu Delta be excited about their Leap Day premiere, but their chapter and band history were immediately enhanced as they were presented with a paddle from the founder of the Western Michigan Band program, Leonard Meretta, who gifted it to the soon-to-be chapter before passing away. The paddle dates to Meretta’s initiation into the Nu Chapter at the University of Michigan in 1938 and is signed by brothers from that time—including William Revelli.

Join me in welcoming the charter members of our newest chapter:

4. KKPsi Summer Leadership Symposium!

LeadershipSymposiumLogo

Brothers,

Summer Leadership Symposia 2008! YES!

The National Council of Kappa Kappa Psi is excited to once again offer a dynamic opportunity to our students: This summer, we will kick off our second Summer Leadership Symposia in two locations. Our workshops will focus on the theme, "Conducting Tomorrow Leaders" The main thing that outline our conduct in Kappa Kappa Psi is the Ritual we all as brothers experience. It is the one thing that truly binds us across the nation. This workshop, developed by Past National President Kirk Randazzo, will take the lessons we learn in our final steps toward becoming a brother and turn them into tangible and useable resources to help create dynamic and empowered leaders in our fraternity.

The first symposium will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 7th and the other will be on June 21st in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. When talking to students many suggested we make this as cost efficient as possible. Therefore, the registration cost for the event is fifty (50) dollars. This fee not only includes registration, but also includes your hotel costs for the Friday and Saturday night of the event. National Headquarters will be planning all housing for this event – you will NOT have to make a separate hotel reservation. The workshop itself will take place all day Saturday. Remember this event for students, and the lessons apply to your specific needs. You can request room mates in the comments session of the form. It would most helpful if you want to room together, that you all register at the same time. We will be announcing this on the national list soon, but you as student members on our national list, get the exclusive release. Also more information will be posted online in the upcoming week.

The registration deadlines are as follows:

Pittsburgh,
Registration is CLOSED

Oklahoma City,
On-time registration: Postmarked by April 29th($50)
Later Registration: Received by May 17th ($65)
No Registration Accepted after May 17th
