3. National Headquarters Realigns Office Responsibilities
by Lt Col Alan Bonner, USAF (ret.), National Executive Director
Following the 2007 National Convention, I felt it was time to make some changes within the HQ Staff regarding office positions and responsibilities. I want to share those changes with the membership as it can assist you in determining whom you should contact for different issues. All of these changes became effective August 15, 2007.
Di Spiva has assumed the position of National Headquarters Office Manager and Accountant. In her new position Di is the executive assistant to the Executive Director, and she oversees the HQ staff in my absence, provides input to me on all staff matters and key issues of the fraternity & sorority. She will continue to execute all bookkeeping functions, including monthly financial statements, accounts payable, managing all money market accounts, alumni association financial records, and is the primary point of contact with the auditing firm for the annual audit review. She works closely with national & district officers to process reimbursement requests for official expenses, district requisitions, and acquiring tax ID account numbers from the Internal Revenue Service for new chapters.
Debbie Morris continues to serve as National Headquarters Membership Services Coordinator. In addition to her on-going management of the master database for all members, she has taken on major new duties of accounts receivables, which includes processing all dues, fees and proceeds from supply sales throughout the year. She also will now create the mid-year and final-year-end Chapter Status Report & District Financial Allocations Report to the National Councils. She prepares, produces and distributes all membership cards and shingles and sends them out with new member pins throughout the year.
Dixie Mosier-Greene is now the National Headquarters Chapter, Colony and Alumni Affairs Coordinator. She continues to prepare all paperwork regarding chapters & colonies and maintains documents and correspondence records for all chapter investigations. She is my principal point of contact for all alumni affairs issues, which has substantially multiplied this summer with the official creation of two alumni associations. She is singularly responsible for making sure that our many mailings are compiled correctly and dispatched in a timely manner throughout the year.
Jake Burk continues on the HQ Staff as the National Headquarters Publications Manager & Graphic Artist. While there are no changes in his responsibilities, his new job title recognizes the significant increase in design demands for a variety of products from both organizations.
If you have need of assistance from any of us here at the Headquarters, I hope this brief report will help you to find the exact person who can help you with your question or concern. Regardless, I can assure you that whoever you reach at the HQ, we will do our best to help you!!
4. KKPsi 2nd Annual Month of Musicianship
Brothers,
The Second Annual National Month of Musicianship is right around the corner. As we all know Kappa Kappa Psi was founded in the month of November, so take time to celebrate music and bands as you remember the founding of our outstanding fraternity. As a chapter, set aside a time to go to a concert or even host and perform in your own recital. Take time to plan a service project that directly relates to music. You could host a concert reception, organize a reading band, or set up a lab band for music major to practice conducting. The goal is to be creative and make sure it relates directly to bands and music. This also coincides with our theme of this biennium which is celebrating the history of our college band programs. Research pieces that are important to your music department history and create a display in your music building, or invite all directors back for a discussion forum. The sky is limit. Finally, make sure you submit your programs to me (adam.cantley@okstate.edu) after you have completed them for the Spring 2008 Podium!
AEA,
Adam D. Cantley
National Vice President for Programs
