4. KKPsi National Month of Musicianship
This year Kappa Kappa Psi will once again celebrate music in the month of November. This also coincides with our theme of this biennium which is Celebrating the History of College Bands. This year marks the Third annual National Month of Musicianship. This program is taking place during the founding month of our fraternity. What better way to celebrate our organization, than celebrating the music and bands that fuel our purposes and vision.
The success of this program falls on you. As a chapter, set aside time to go to a concert or even have your own recital. This is a time to celebrate music, bands, and how it relates to Kappa Kappa Psi. Take time to plan a service project that directly relates to music. Usher a concert, organize a reading band, or set up a lab band for music major to practice conducting. Let's Celebrate Music as a Nation in November! Also, you can join the facebook group for the event by going to:

Finally, make sure you submite a write up of what you have done to me (adamcantley@kkpsi.org) with a picture for the Spring 2009 issue of The Podium!

6. Chapter Status Reports for Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma
Each National Council wants to keep all members appraised of the status of chapters across the country. Each month we will publicize in the NewsNotes the status of all chapters who are not in good standing: Probation, Suspension, or Dropped (within the past 3 years). As a general guide to those different standings, the National Councils normally will place a chapter on Probation or Suspension when we learn that the activities of the chapter are not consistent with its organization's policies, its National Constitution, or the Ritual of that organization. Suspension is typically used for investigation when we receive serious allegations, and most certainly when we receive allegations of hazing. When we investigate a chapter and the results support the allegations, the National Council will drop a chapter, requiring at least 5 years of absence from the campus before the National Council will consider a request for re-colonization.
In our effort to inform you all of the efforts we make to strengthen the Fraternity and Sorority and to reduce the dangers associated with risk management issues, it is important that we keep you current as to the status of all chapters who are under increased supervision by the national leadership. Our intent is not to embarrass any chapter, band program or university. However, we no longer can cover up the actions of some chapters that call for stronger discipline, and even sanctions at times. When a chapter is removed from this list, we'll be certain to list that good news here as well! If any chapter is uncertain why it is included on this list, please contact your National Council or the National Headquarters for clarification.
