       • 2007 National Convention!!!
       • KKPsi National Alumni Program Update
       • TBS Announces BOT Selection Process

1. 2007 National Convention Huge Success!!

by Lt Col Alan Bonner, National Executive Director

We've just wrapped up the largest (and by all accounts with whom I talked, the most successful) national convention in the history of KKPsi & TBS!! We had over 1,000 attendees/participants during the overall 10-day program and exceeded by a wide margin all room pickup commitments with the hotel. That is an important fact, in that not doing so can have some negative, financial impacts on our convention budget!

The 2007 National Intercollegiate Band, conducted by Frank Wickes, was the strongest in many years according to some experienced attendees, and the world premiere of Eric Ewazen's, Celestial Dancers, was outstanding! You'll definitly want to get the CD when it is released! The Boston Brass performed a terrific, entertaining program, and they surprised us all by announcing that two of the members were Brothers of KKPsi! We had a record number of educational and professional workshops, and even the 8:30AM sessions were well attended!! I was very proud of those guys who got up early after 2AM caucauses by the large pools!

Both KKPsi and TBS unveiled new alumni programs that received very positive receptions and many joined on the spot! Watch for more information in the future as both organizations strive to create programs that will benefit the Active Membership, both Fraternity & Sorority, and all who graduate and move on as alumni of KKPsi & TBS. A big goal is to provide each of you an opportunity to continue to participate in the brotherhood & sisterhood!

We announced the 2009 National Convention site to be the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix! For those of you who maintain a two-year calendar, mark it down! We'll want to see you there!

For all of you who made the 2007 National Convention so successful, on behalf of the National Councils and all who played a role in putting this together, a huge THANK YOU!!!
