3. Tau Beta Sigma Announces Board Of Trustees
Openings
This summer at National Convention,
Tau Beta Sigma will elect three members to the
Board of Trustees. If you are a member of the
Sorority in good standing, at least 30 years of
age as of July 28, 2001, and if you have a desire
to help lead the Sorority to even greater
heights, you are encouraged to submit an 'intent
to run' package to Karon Miller, National
President for Tau Beta Sigma.
Those persons interested in running for election
to the Board of Trustees need to submit a resume
and a letter of interest to the National
Headquarters, PO Box 849, Stillwater, OK, 74076.
The post mark is June 15, 2001.
If you have any questions, please contact Karon
Miller at DKM@tbsigm.org
4. Kappa Kappa Psi 2001 National Convention
Updated Committee Information
The National Council and the Board
of Trustees want to provide each of you with a
more meaningful experience during the National
Convention. Each delegate will be assigned to a
committee. Members who are not delegates are free
to select a committee and attend those meetings.
We plan to alter the shape and function of
several of the committees at this convention.
What we plan to do is re-format several
committees to be strategically oriented
discussion groups. However, other committees will
remain traditionally operated.
For complete details, please open the Word
attachment to this newsletter by clicking HERE.
5. Register for National Convention On-Line
We hope to make Registration as
simple as possible for all who will attend this
summer. You may now register On-Line at the
following URL:
http://www.kkytbs.org/2001ConvReg.htm. It has
been tested and is working correctly. The form
can be reached from the convention information
page on the Headquarter's website at
http://www.kkytbs.org/2001natconv.html.
The site is unsecured, but we used this for the
1999 National Convention in St. Louis without any
problems. If you are uncomfortable providing your
credit card information, you still may use the
on-line format to register without providing the
credit card information. After filling out your
on-line registration form, simply call your
credit card information in to the Headquarters at
800.543.6505.
6. Many Chapter Have Not Reported New Initiates
This month, the National
Headquarters sent out a letter to every chapter
encouraging each to report their new initiates.
As of April 19, 2001, we still have an unusual
number of chapters who have not reported their
new initiates this spring, including 43 Kappa
Kappa Psi chapters and 34 Tau Beta Sigma
Chapters.
Excel Spreadsheets for KKPsi & TBS have been
attached to this issue of NewsNotes. District
leaders, please review your respective attachment
and check for the chapters in your district.
Please contact them and ask them to let us know
if & when they will be reporting their new
initiates. Chapter Presidents are encouraged to
review to ensure your chapter has completed your
reporting responsibilities.
We would hope to assist all of these chapters by
them not having to pay the 25% late fees!
Remember, you only have 30 days following 3rd
Degree to submit your Initiate Report! Plus, as
you may know, on time reporting benefits the
district when it comes time to the district
allocation, as that amount is based on number of
members reported on time.
If any of the data in the spreadsheet is
incorrect, please contact Dixie Mosier-Greene at
hqdixie@kkytbs.org, the Headquarters Membership
Services Coordinator and report the error.
