Job Opening at the NHQ
The
HQs National Accountant, Debbie Farris, has just
accepted a new position with another firm and has
regretfully submitted her resignation. We
have just announced an immediate opening for this
position in our local newspapers, and the
National Councils wish to inform all members of
KKPsi & TBS of that vacancy as well.
The advertisement reads as follows:
"Immediate
Opening: Full-time Bookkeeper/Financial
Assistant position;
includes Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial
Reports, Experience with
QuickBooks Pro required. Monthly salary
(based on experience) plus
benefits. Letter of application with
resume and references now being
accepted until position is filled. FAX
(405)372-2363 or mail to KKPsi &
TBS National Headquarters, PO Box 849,
Stillwater, OK 74076-0849."
If you are interested in this position or have
any questions, please give us a call at
800-543-6505.

Every Chapter now has a permanent e-mail account!
We
are in the final steps of setting up individual
chapter email accounts for every chapter in KKPsi
and TBS. The accounts will be similar to
the following: thetabeta@kkpsi.org or
alphamu@tbsigma.org. Two-letter chapters such as
the Mu chapter of KKPsi or TBS will look like
"mukky@kkpsi.org" or
"xitbs@tbsigma.org," because of the
software, which requires as least three
characters in the user id of the email
address. We will have a generic password
for all accounts in order for the officers of
each chapter to claim that account. At that
time, you will be able to establish your own
password for your chapter's account.
We
have just completed that process for all District
Officers, and according to tests we've conducted,
the process is working well! Our objective
is to have a permanent chapter account for all,
so that we may communicate with you efficiently,
quickly, and economically (read that FREE).
I'm sure we won't be sending email to you on a
daily basis, but your National Councils, District
Governors & Counselors, and District Officers
will have the ability to send you information as
well, so it is important that each chapter has
someone designated to check the mail on a regular
basis.
KKPsi
is ready now, and all KKPsi chapters may claim
their individual accounts by using chapter name
as the user id, and the generic password:
bohmokvosky. TBS should be ready today, and
the generic password is wavahenry. We
strongly request that only chapter officers claim
the account, and please, claim only your
chapter's account! Be sure to change your
password once you have logged in!
If
you have any questions or problems, email
feedback@kkpsi.org or feedback@tbsigma.org, and
info the HQs at kkytbs@kkytbs.org.

Report Chapter Officer Changes adapted from a
listserve email from Deb Eakins, NED Governor
Deb
Eakins sent out a timely reminder to KKPsi
chapters over the listserve, and it is
appropriate to share it will all members of KKPsi
& TBS. Please help us all keep good
data with respect to those member selected to
lead each of our chapters. Her
article follows, and thanks Deb...
"It
looks like it is that time of year again.
I'm seeing many new officer announcements on the
list. With the changing of the guard
the potential for communication problems
increases. If folks don't know who the new
president/contact person is you may/may not get
information.
Once
your election results are in please take a moment
to fill out the chapter officer change form
on-line at http://www.kkytbs.org/offchange.htm
Also
take a moment to send a note to your district
council members and governor(s) [counselor(s)]
for their files. This simple step enables
more effective communication.
When possible send a note to the other chapters
in your district as well. Posting the
change info to the listserve is great, but
doesn't always hit the target for folks who may
not have a brother [or sister] in the chapter on
the list.

TBS Guide to Leadership Education
Mike McMurtrey, our National Publications
Manager, has just set up the TBS Guide to
Leadership Education as a downloadable file from
the HQ website. This document was compiled
primarily by Chaundra Zelinski, TBS CFR, and we
hope it proves to be helpful.
You
will need Acrobat Reader on your PC or MAC in
order to view this document. It is
available for free from the following URL: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html
5.
REMINDERS:
Spring
issue of THE PODIUM is in the mail this
week. We have changed printers and this is
the first issue prepared by Mike McMurtrey.
We hope you like to look. Please be on the
lookout for your shipment, and let the National
HQs know if you do not receive yours by April
21st.
Effective
immediately, NewsNotes On-Line and the 1999
National Convention Minutes are available from
the National Headquarters Homepage. Click
on the Updates and Announcements Tab, and you
will be able to view, print, or download at your
leisure. The Minutes are in a
PDF Format, which requires Adobe Acrobat Viewer,
also available for download at the same location.
Initiate Registration Reports
Many chapters are completing the Spring Initiate
Season in time to get your new Active Members
ready for District Convention. REMEMBER,
you have 30 days following the Initiation Date to
submit your Initiate Report to the National
Headquarters and avoid the Late Fees!
Applications
accepted beginning June 1, 2000 for the First
National Intercollegiate Marching Band French
Riviera Tour, June 26 to July 5, 2002.
The
National Membership Services Coordinator, Dixie
Mosier-Greene, just sent out the annual "No
Initiates Letter" to chapters who had not
submitted any initiates to the HQ this academic
year. If you just sent us your Initiate
Registration Form, it may have crossed in the
mail, so email hqsec@kkytbs.org for verification.
All
TBS Scholarship Applications must be postmarked
by June 1, 2000. Copies of the applications may
be found in the TBS Chapter Operations.
