National Convention

Hello Brothers and Sisters! We hope this note finds you well and tackling your semesters head on. We just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that National Covnention is fast approaching and ask that all start preparing yourselves and your chapters to ensure your presence at National Convention in Colorado Springs. All information, forms and the like for National Convention can be found at:
Now is the time to start preparing for the biggest gathering of brothers and sisters of the biennium. We look forward to seeing you all there!

While each chapter of our organizations is sent one hard copy of the PODIUM, it can also be found online for download here by anyone interested in a personal copy.

Submissions for the Fall 2011 issue of the Podium are due by May 1st. The Podium is your publication, so we encourage everyone to write about something and send it in. Write about how your chapter is doing, what projects you have accomplished, etc. and feel free to send us personal articles as well. We also love for your articles to be accompanied by pictures! You are what makes the Podium a great publication, so send us your articles today!

When you complete your Initiate Classes, please remember that you have 30 days following Third Degree to submit the Initiate Registration Form. An additional fee of 25% is applied to all forms that are late.

Tau Beta Sigma is pleased to annouce the installation of it's newest chapter! The Beta Phi Chapter at Florida A&M University (Tallahasee, Florida) was installed Saturday, February 12th in the Foster-Tanner Band Rehearsal Hall. The Beta Phi Chapter members are as follows:

New Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi

Brothers and Sisters,

It is my pleasure to announce the installation of the Gamma Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi at Otterbein University. The installation of our 87th chapter occurred on February 26, 2011 with President Derrick Mills serving as installing officer of 13 colonists and 5 honorary members. The Eta chapter served as the advising chapter and Tim Kalgreen, Life Member from Eta was the colony advisor. This is the 14th chapter installation of the biennium.

Brothers were in attendance from across the North Central District. Also in attendance were Tammi Rice, NCD President, Jason Morris, Past National Vice President for Student Affairs and past NCD Officers Chuck Cattrell and Eric Snowden. The new chapter is off to a great start with many projects accomplished, others in the works, and tremendous support from the brothers and sisters of the North Central District!

New Colony of Tau Beta Sigma

Sisters of Tau Beta Sigma ~

It is my pleasure to announce a new colony for the Sorority. The group of students at Savannah State University is the newest colony for Tau Beta Sigma. We are very excited to welcome this colony and its 8 members to our organization.

The colony will be advised by Life Member Cenobia Hilton and the Epsilon
Alpha chapter at the University of South Carolina.

The Spring 2011 Edition of the Podium is Complete and Online

The Podium Publication for Spring 2011 is now online and available for download here. In our efforts to ensure as many people see our publication as possible we encourage you to forward the address on to the rest of your chapters and encourage everyone to read and respond to the articles inside. The Podium has an entirely new look making more attractive and easy to navigate. With several dozen articles, several from students across the country and new articles from your National officers there's sure to be plenty of content to spark anyone's interest.

We're already accepting articles for next semester's publication. All Fall 2011 submissions should be in by May 1st with those articles featuring photos/graphics having a higher chance of inclusion in the final revision. I look forward to seeing your articles in my inbox soon!

National Convention Website is Live and Program Deadline Reminders

The National Convention website is Live, up and running with information about your National Covnention. Although it has been live for a while now, all forms related to the convention are also on the website and more information is now being added on an almost weekly basis. With National Convention right around the corner we here at your National Headquarters want to make sure you know as much about convention as possible and wish to remind you about certain deadlines for programs related to convention.

The following are deadlines fast approaching for things related to National Convention:

KKΨ Concerto Competition Submission Deadline is April 15th, 2011.

National Intercollegiate Band Audition materials must be postmarked by April 19, 2011.

Fall 2011 Submissions to the Podium are due May 1, 2011.

Registration for the convention itself will be due on June 5, 2011 along with several other forms for the convention itself, so start saving your funds now for registration fees as well as for the hotel and travel costs.
