5. Put Your Band History On Display At National Convention
We want to hear about your bands! Kappa Kappa Psi wants to devote one session of Interactive Psi at National Convention to your college band histories. We ask active chapters to create proposals for us of what you plan to cover. Beyond these important discussions, we want
you to look for historical items on your campus -- past letters, programs, pictures, tour
details, whatever.
For those of you who remember Interactive Psi from Orlando, you know it is not an ordinary chapter display. The chapters, districts, and national officers who create tables take a lot of care to create impressive visual displays that tell a story. In your case, the story we want to see is the story about the history of your band program. Imagine the most impressive poster fair you've ever attended, but dedicated entirely to college bands.
To apply, send a message to writinghistory@kkpsi.org, letting us know:
- The name of your band program.
- The materials you are using to research your history (and particularly materials you could bring to Phoenix for National Convention showing).
- The outline of what you've learned so far about your band's history. (200 words or less)
If you have more questions about this project, write to writinghistory@kkpsi.org.
Chapters submitting by 1 January 2009 will receive first consideration for this opportunity!
We know we have a great variety of band histories. Let's bring them together to tell the story of
90 years of Kappa Kappa Psi and college bands!

6. America's Got Talent
I received a phone call from Daarina Marie of the casting office of NBC's America's Got Talent, and she wanted me to spread the word to all KKPsi & TBSigma members about the new season and their search for special talents to be on the show. I've copied her email to me about audition information for anyone who thinks they might have a shot!! This wasn't just a 'cold call' either as she has friends who are members of our organizations. If you have any tough questions about the show or auditions I have her personal contact information, and she agreed for me to pass it along to any of our members!!
Good luck!!
Lt Col Alan Bonner, USAF(ret.)
National Executive Director

Dear Lt Col Bonner,
I have enclosed some details about our show and what it is we are looking for in season four.We here at America's Got Talent are excited and would be honored to have the members of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma show up at our open calls in the upcoming new year. We know there are many talented people in your organization!
For season four, America's Got Talent is currently planning a massive nationwide audition tour. The auditions will be traveling across America to over eight major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C. to name a few. For the latest info on the show and to pre-register for an audition, please visit www.nbc.com/agt.
For the last 3 seasons this series has truly changed the lives of its previous contestants in ways they never dreamed of. Last year insurance salesman/opera singer Neal Boyd from Missouri won the $1,000,000 grand prize and also achieved his lifelong dream to headline on the Las Vegas Strip with a show planned for the MGM.
What makes this show unique is that any talent goes. We want to see anything and everything…No matter how zany, bizarre or unusual others may think your talent is, on our show, it could make you a star!
Warm regards,
Daarina Marie
