North Central District Alumni Association

1999 Convention Report

This time last year a few Brothers and Sisters had a dream ... a dream that one day there would be Brothers and Sisters walking side by with their walkers united by a goal (other than senility). We took baby steps to bring the dream to reality. We created a Constitution, kicked the rear ends of actives in a Summer FUNction softball game, elected suckers ... oops the least senile to be officers, invaded Purdue for a football game, and finally the dream came to full fruition. In December of 1998, the National Alumni Association recognized the existence of this collection of gold cane carrying alumni members of this great district as the North Central District Alumni Association.

Our membership consists of Brothers and Sisters across the district and from various generations of active retirement. Has-beens, local yokuls, and converts to the NCD have joined the ranks of the NCDAA. We began with 10 members and in seven months have blossomed to 17 viagra-driven members... and we're still growing.

A goal for us is to survive the weekend. Our primary goal is to financially assist with the NCD Commissioning Project. To show our love for the district and to spread that love around, we adapted the show "Singled Out" as an energetic FUNdraiser. The first show ran at Leadership and generated $82.00 for the project. We ran the show again here at convention raising an additional $150.00 for the project and hear our winning couples are planning their dates with much anticipation ... nudge, nudge ... wink, wink.

The NCDAA is here to continue to serve the bands and to assist the active chapters in the district when asked. If you are interested in learning more about the NCDAA, you may visit our website; http://come.to/ncdaa. To contact us about assisting your chapter, you may e-mail us at ncdaa@yahoo.com or snail mail one of the officers (addresses given upon request).

We look forward to living our golden years in the North Central District but just remember "When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not!"
