Zeta Epsilon Chapter—Michigan State University

Tau Beta Sigma-Chapter Report-2000

Hello Sisters and Brothers of the North Central District,

The Sisters at ZE sincerely hope that this past year has been a wonderful one for all of you.  When we last left you in Toledo a year ago, we as Sisters began setting great goals for ourselves and I am happy to report that many of them have been met.  We have had a growing year in more ways than one.

As in years past the Zeta Epsilon Chapter has continued to carry out our traditional duties in serving the bands.  Such duties include assisting the marching band staff throughout preseason, hosting the preseason picnic, and making care packages for the freshmen. Other duties included: making stand gifts for the concert band musicians before their concerts, providing receptions for the concert bands, hosting the Spartan Marching Invitational in October, and planning Huddle (our marching band formal banquet). Our service to the band continued with a new tradition this year with the introduction of “Beat the Irish” snack packs.   Some of our fundraising projects included: holding pop-can drives, and assisting with parking for on-campus events. In addition to all this and many other odds and ends, our Chapter took great strides to improve itself from the inside in order to continue to serve the bands from the outside.  The Sisters of Zeta Epsilon would like to share with you our list of  “Top 10 Great Sisterhood Accomplishments”.

10-3 Active Sisters and 2 Alumni traveled to National Convention in St. Louis this past summer

9-Updating and revising our membership education guide manual

8-Our parking fundraiser, which included orange vests, flashlights and Stars on Ice at Munn Ice Arena

7-Starting our first “Big Sister/Little Sister chapter scrapbook”

6-Taking our first Chapter composite picture

5-Gaining a new advisor, in addition to our long lasting sponsor

4-Started cleaning out our TBS “size of a practice room” room

3-Getting to know some of the sisters from our sister chapters

2- Holding our 2nd semi-annual Sisterhood sleepover

And the number 1 great accomplishment since last year’s NCD convention-we have multiplied like bunnies with our class of 9 awesome new numbers to double our Chapter size!!

Well there you have it.  The Sisters at ZE have spent the past year growing together and accomplishing many wonderful things. The group of Sisters that you will find in East Lansing are as good as it gets and we are all looking forward to another year another year to help serve the bands.

Respectfully Submitted In the Bond,
