Greetings,

Let’s start at the very beginning.  I was extremely excited and honored to get elected last year as if you couldn’t tell from my nervousness.  The problem is that school did not go so great for me that term, due to my extensive traveling and I ended up on academic probation and had to retake a class.  Needless to say my parents weren’t too happy.  I was not allowed to do Marching Band this year, which was very hard for me.  I don’t enjoy my major, don’t get me wrong often I think it is neat that I am able to solve or model something but I never thoroughly grasp something.  Personally, I would not want myself working as a Chemical Engineer I’m afraid I would blow something up.  But I just would like to say that my focus has been on school and not TBS.  I would have loved to post directions to every chapter on the webpage and visit everyone and a bajillion other things.  But this report is about the stuff I have done.

So I’ll start at the beginning, for the second time.  First, I traveled to Miami last year to watch their third degree.  I was very impressed and I also got to see some sister’s from Theta and then we went to some museum and learned some salsa and I went to their retreat.  By the way I met my twin there, Melanie Bowers, she has the same exact birthday as me, well we’re a few hours apart, but close enough.  The largest service I provided during my term was definitely Summer FUNction.  Preparing all the food was fun but a lot of work.  I just would have rather had everyone come over to the farm than hauling everything but the kitchen sink to Kentucky.  There weren’t many sisters there so I would like to encourage you all to come out this summer.  My first National Convention was a load of fun.  I did miss hanging out with my chapter though.  I believe my favorite road trip was the one in December not only because I was able to meet an entire chapter I knew nothing about, I was able to attend third Degree, and there were Christmas lights on the way there.

I was excited at the amount and quality of applicants for awards this year and the level of district involvement.  I also enjoyed working with Doug on our Block workshops and hope it was beneficial to you. I am also happy to report I was able to see 5 third degrees this year.

Just a few notes on the council:

Believe it or not none of us really enjoys shopping.  Each and every one of them are wonderful people and it has been inspiring to work with such a dedicated group of women.  Oh and we all enjoy sleeping and yes I am the one that snores.  I am also the beautician which I think is funny because I’m usually asking if my outfit matches.

I would like to thank both Nu and Lambda for being my friends and supporting me.

I would like to thank my housemates for dealing with me, especially Amy.  Actually Amy I am amazed by you.  I know this must sound awful but I can never measure up to you so I’m just trying to be me the best I can.

I wanted to thank Tim.  He is the best listener, but maybe he fooled me and he’s just nodding and agreeing.  Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

Trudy, I am often amazed at your not only your opinions but that fact that you have a strong basis.  Thank you so much for the numerous car rides.

Susan, I can’t believe people like you exist.  I thought everyone was spoiled, corrupted, or bitter about something but not you.  Some days I would get your Have a merry, happy, jolly, good day signature file and be pulling my ears and hating the world and I just couldn’t help but know that things were fine in Susan land.

Kelly, I just want to say that she is always right!  If you aren’t convinced within 5 minutes just wait cause she won’t stop talking until you are.

Lisa, remember when I zerberted your belly at Nationals.

Cheryl, thanks for being there.  I was really excited when you wrote on my planner at the MSU meeting.  I even showed Tim.J
