D.O.P.I.E--District Optional Program for Income Enhancement
Your D.O.P.I.E. donation of at least $30.00 will waive the $20.00 Delegate
fee at the NCD Convention.
DISTRICT OPTIONAL PROGRAM for INCOME ENHANCEMENT (DOPIE)
DOPIE started as an idea to allow chapters to sow their pride in their
district by donating a portion
of a fundraiser to the district fund. This would obviously increase the
district's revenue and allow
more beneficial programs to be offered.
The basic theory is as follows: A chapters plans a fundraiser,
earmarking a portion to be sent to
the district. The Secretary/Treasurer is contacted, and would be able to
assist in planning and
implementing the fundraiser, if needed. If their application is
accepted, the chapter, upon receipt of
the funds, would receive many benefits. Included are the waiving of their
chapter delegate fee for
the current year, a notation on the Governor's Cup fact sheet, the
assistance of the district
Secretary/Treasurer, and the obvious benefit of income for the chapter
from a new fundraiser.
Suggestions for the program are:
- The program is totally voluntary and optional.
- There is a minimum $30.00 contribution to the district fund
to participate.
- The chapter should choose either a set donation or a
percentage before the fundraiser takes
place, if possible.
- The Secretary-Treasurer should send out DOPIE Participation
Forms to all chapters by
October 1. This form is also in Appendix D.
- Participating chapters will submit the form to the
Secretary/Treasurer before the fundraiser, if possible.
- The Secretary/Treasurer should assist in any way including
collecting, compiling and
distributing fundraising ideas, as appropriate emphasizing collective
chapter fundraisers
where it makes sense and overseeing all DOPIE functions, projects,
calculations and
tabulations.
- No monies from DOPIE should be added to the budget or spent
until the year following their receipt. This is to eliminate the
potential for not raising enough DOPIE funds in a given year to cover
expenses.
- The only exception to #7 is that the first $20 chapter
delegate fee will be applied to the current year's budget.
- The due date for DOPIE submissions will be thirty days prior
to the district convention.
