                • A Statement from the National Presidents


Sisters and Brothers of Tau Beta Sigma & Kappa Kappa Psi,

There have been several inquiries into the Southeast District convention. Upon review of the 2006 Southeast District Convention, some portions of the latest convention placed our organizations at risk. A large number of members and directors expressed concern about their experiences and how they represented Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma. Therefore, both National Councils have taken necessary steps to protect the National Fraternity and the National Sorority based upon a desire to provide an environment that promotes the ideals and purposes of our organizations.

We view this as an opportunity to strengthen our organizations overall through a focus on music, service, and leadership. We will assist and provide guidance in making these changes along with the defined expectations sent to each chapter, sponsor, and directors of bands in the Southeast District. With these expectations, we are devoting time and resources to an improved Southeast District Convention for the students in 2007.
